Everybody involved in the production of FURY FOR THE SOUND wants the film to make a difference. A political system will only respond to environmental concerns if absolutely required to by its citizens. We are providing you with the following information in order to help you get started in taking action to help save our forests.

What will save our forests?

• Require that the rate of logging be reduced

• Reduce our own daily consumption of temperate rainforests. If we don't use it, they won't cut it down.

• Find other economic ways to support the logging communities that currently depend on the logging

• Create more jobs out of the amount of wood logged. Less trees can be cut and more jobs created if we manufacture things here rather than export the raw logs elsewhere

• Put an end to clearcutting. Log sustainably in ways that mimic nature's cycles rather than ways that completely destroy all prospects of regeneration

• Use other things to create paper: agri-pulp, hemp, kenaf etc. There are other fibres available!

• Protect areas of key ecological importance (e.g. pristine valleys)

• TELL THE POLITICIANS how you feel!!!
