Iisaak's Logging along Millar Channel, 2002

Cutblocks in Millar Channel

In the background is the mouth of Atleo River, one of the most logged-out valleys in Clayoquot Sound. In the foreground are patch cuts (small clearcuts) logged by Iisaak Forest Resources in 2002 along Millar Channel. Iisaak cut 20,000 cubic metres (equivalent to 600 logging-truck loads) of ancient forest adjacent to Millar Channel, in 16 patch cuts, the largest of which is 4.4 hectares. Logs were lifted out by helicopter and dropped onto a barge anchored off-shore.
