Some
of the 16 cutblocks Interfor logged in 1999-2000 in Lost Shoe Creek. At

This aerial view illustrates the progressive removal of old growth forest
in Lost Shoe valley, next to Pacific Rim National Park. 78% of the area
of the Lost Shoe valley has now been logged, with almost 100% of the Lost
Shoe productive old growth forest outside the park boundary being cut.

| Protester arrested June 2000 for blocking Interfor's logging in Lost Shoe Creek, on the border of Pacific Rim National Park. In January 2000, the park became one of the core protected areas of the new Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve. Despite this, Interfor logged to within 75 meters of the park boundary in the cutblock. |
